Software vs Hardware

Software:

Interdependance: To deliver its set of instructions, Software is installed on hardware.
Examples: Quickbooks, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer , Microsoft Word , Microsoft Excel etc.
Types: System software, Programming software, and Application software.
Function: To perform the specific task you need to complete.
Definition: Collection of instructions that enables a user to interact with the computer.


Hardware:

Interdependance: Hardware starts functioning once software is loaded.
Examples: CD-ROM, monitor, printer, video card, scanners , label makers, routers , and modems.
Types: Motherboard, CPU, RAM, BIOS, power supply, video display controller, computer bus, CD-ROM drive, floppy disk, zip drive.
Function: Serve as a delivery system of Software solution.
Definition: Devices required to store and execute (or run) the software.
